Interview - Mike Schiemer: Return of the Frugal Fitness Guru

So nice, we had to interview him twice. Yes, Mike "Frugal Fitness" Schiemer is back on The Heartthrob Hero. Our first repeat interviewee. We've been a fan of the hunky on-line fitness guru for quite some time and he's always been awesome to deal with. When he was pitched the idea of doing a follow-up interview, he was stoked! This time around we discuss his Unbiased Reviews series on his YouTube channel, tips for staying in shape during the colder months and what he thinks his best feature is.

1. There seems to be a big focus now on your Frugal Cooking videos and your Frugal Recipes. Not only does everything look delicious, but it always seems like you are having a lot of fun. Have you always had a flair for cooking? Has your cooking been a hit with the ladies?

Mike: "I've definitely been working to bolster the Frugal Cooking videos because eating healthy and on a budget is so important to achieving your fitness goals. The recipes always come out great and I have a blast with whoever I'm working with. I've had some great cooks work with me so far including Jon A, Amanda Santucci, and Melissa McKenzie. I've never been that great of a cook to be honest, my guests do most of the skilled work and I just talk about nutrition or crack jokes haha. I am usually so busy, on the go, or tired/lazy that I don't do a ton of cooking regularly but that needs to change. I've gotten some great feedback from men and women on the videos. More Frugal Feasts to come!"

2. There are always new products and supplements being introduced on the market which can seem daunting to people just getting into working out and being healthy. What has been the response to your unbiased review videos?

Mike: "You're right, there are a TON of supplements out there and more entering the marketplace every month. I've gotten a pretty good response from my "Unbiased Supplement Review" video playlist because viewers appreciate that my opinion is not being bought by any company. These review videos are based only on my scientific and personal knowledge of the product vs. comparable products. However, as with all YouTube videos, there are always clowns out there that love to troll and comment that they know more than I do or that I am full of it. Usually these critics are either 14 year old boys, angry men, or a roid-raging bodybuilder that complains I am too skinny and wimpy. But it's all good and I will keep doing these unbiased review videos for a long time!"

3. What can you tell us about being in the FitFluential network?

Mike: "Being a FitFluential Ambassador has been a fantastic experience. They accept only the most talented and dedicated health, fitness, and food bloggers and vloggers and it is an honor to be a part of the organization. I've met some really great people and been given some excellent opportunities to improve my business and work with great companies that I love."

Chord Overstreet

Blond, sexy and smouldering. Yes, I'm describing Chord Overstreet. Chord plays the loveable Sam Evans on Glee and from his appearance at Audi and Derek Lam's Emmy Kick Off Week celebration, he plays the heartthrob role just as well off-screen.

More pics of Chord at the Audi and Derek Lam event, after the break!

Interview - Johnny Kashmere: Profundity Personified

With a name like Johnny Kashmere, how could you not love him? Johnny Kashmere is an outspoken heartthrob that made his name wrestling on the independent scene. His BackSeat Boyz tag team thrilled audiences for years and gained him quite the loyal following. We're thrilled to bring you this fun interview, discussing how he got his start in wrestling, what made his team with Trent Acid really catch on with the fans and his future plans and projects.

1. When did you first become a fan of professional wrestling? Who were your favourite wrestlers prior to you getting into the business?

Johnny: "I have been a fan of pro wrestling since I was four years old.  My grandmother would babysit me on Saturday nights and she would always have NWA/WCW Saturday Night on. I remember her really hating the Russian faction with a passion. From then on I was hooked, but I must admit WWF was always my favourite, even through the Monday Night Wars I stayed loyal to WWE and was in the crowd the night Foley won the title and the ratings tipped into WWE's favour again.

My favourite was always The Undertaker hands down. Honourable mentions go to Mr Perfect, Randy Savage, and Jake Roberts. Today my favourite active pro wrestlers are Chris Hamrick, David Kid Kash, Tyson Kidd, and Dolph Ziggler. I used to respect the "larger than life" aspect when I was young, but now I tend to like the great "workers"."

2. How did you get your start in wrestling?

Johnny: "I started wrestling on events in Bordentown, NJ in 1998 while I was still untrained! I wrestled four matches in three months and then went to the Pitbulls gym in South Philly to get formally trained. I trained for a month on the mats before I ever entered a ring except to bump. I would train Monday thru Thursday and this went on for years and years. I was lucky that I was located in NJ and could wrestle in Philly and NY since they are huge wrestling markets."
